hey guys! :D
this was shared during a youth camp I went to when I was still attending my previous church, and I pray that it will speak to you.
even as we are speaking of entering into a year of victory,making that switch from salt to light,we should also remember that we should still function as salt as well.

matthew 5:13-16

what are some of the functions of salt?
to begin with we all should know that salt adds flavour, as well as serves as a perservative.
In the same way we as christians are also called to preserve the standards of god in this world. we have a role to play as a preserving influence!
this means that we are not to conform to the lifestyles,and attitudes of the world.its a tough thing, no doubt. why didn’t god call us the sugar of the earth? ever thought about that? why salt?
If you really think about it, many times when we talk to a pre-believer we encounter difficulties,of sorts. or whenever we try to adhere to god’s standards there is friction. God’s way? or My way? we get torn between, let’s face it. its not an easy thing when we are called to obey god sometimes.

Our presence as salt is meant to hurt. Makes sense? okay. when you have a cut,and suppose you sprinkle some salt over the wound. Doesn’t it hurt like hell? What comes next?
Salt brings healing. yes,it hurts. But it brings healing after that. as salt, we are rubbing into the wounds of this world, but not without bringing god’s healing.
Yeah, and don’t stay in your saltshaker.

Salt Is meant to live OUTSIDE of the saltshaker. (;

goodnight people.
